With a BFA from the University Of Michigan School Of Music, and a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from NYU, Andy’s drive to create has led him to wear many hats while exploring many roles: actor, singer, musician, writer, photographer, carpenter, producer, editor, and painter, to name a few.

Andy’s early paintings featured many fish, boats of all sizes, and beaches; scenes from his roots in Michigan near the shores of the Great Lakes, and reflections of his love for all things nautical.   With the impending birth of his first child his wife directed his gaze toward empty nursery walls, and inspired a shift in style and subject matter toward the thoughtful, colorful storybook-like characters for which he would become known.

“I didn’t mean to paint so many animals, but everyone we knew just kept having babies.  I suppose a niche is something you fall into when you don’t know where you’re headed.”

Working primarily in the watercolor medium with occasional pencil work added for detail, Andy’s paintings feature distinct personality, often with a slightly puckish twist; a squirrel named “Lucky” who’s missing his tale; “The Three, Multi-Racial Bears”.

Currently, Andy is a Senior Editor at the Discovery Channel in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he lives with his beautiful wife, Nina, children, Clementine and Wilder, and Collie, Mikey.
